what to expect
Our farm is friendly to all ages however, we are a farm and there are bumps and divits, holes and sticks. We also have rolling hills to enjoy but can become more than expected. For NorthEast Ohio our farm has some pretty exciting terrain. Enjoy your hike, and take your time!
No Entrance Fee
At closing we begin puting bags and boxes away for the day. However, we Will not kick you out so continue picking and filling your bags. We will likely not give out any more bags after closing.
Parking
Parking is at the top of the hill behind the woods you see from the road. Our farm is well hidden from the road. Park on the left in the gravel or once that fills up park on the grass. Walk your own adventure or enjoy a wagon ride on Saturdays in the fall! (Sept 16 - Oct) We will have wagon rides primarily to and from the pumpkin patch. (Our wagon is big enough to hold a few strollers as well, no worries!)
clothing
It is important to dress for the weather. We always recomend closed toe shoes.
families
We welcome familes to our farm! You will be walking on dirt, grass, and gravel. There are lots of things to learn about and experience. We encourage you to get dirty and have fun. This year we added a Log Tunnel for the children to climb through. No Entrance Fees or Fun Fest.
Payment
We accept cash or credit, cash is always appreciated. If you wish to pay with Silver, we can work that out as well. We add a 4% services fee for credit card processing.
Weather
Our farm will be open unless the entire day is a washout. We know families drive quite a distance and often can not predict the weather. Our primary goal is to remain open, this is the only way for the produce to get picked! Farmers often pick in the rain or lite sprinkles. You can always call ahead but expect for us to be open. We may not have as many people working, and the tractor drivers may go home on lousy days but someone will be here to help direct you to find fun stuff to pick!

Enjoy a few Samples
Here at Ransom we want you to enjoy sampling the tasty delights you find. There is no better way to get to know the fruit than by sampling them. Berries are easy to sample, and apples might seem wasteful. Be considerate and share it with family when possible. This is why we charge by the container for the activity. Fill the bag up, or the assumption is you already ate them.
Apple Picking
We raise many apple varities and can not offer Pick Your Own on all the varities. Please respect the chains that are telling you not to pick those rows. These varieties are not ready to be picked yet. Please respect these simple rules. Taking a bite out of an apple is one thing but biting into an apple from a row that is chained off and tossing it asside because it "doesn't taste good" is inmature. :-)
